The National Council on Black American Affairs is a council of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). The Southern Region Annual Fall Conference aims to support NCBAA’s shared values of recognizing collegial sharing of information and ideas; opening access to higher education for the underserved; embracing the diversity of people, ideas, and learning styles; and fostering teaching excellence.

The NCBAA Southern Region Board of Directors invites you to join us for our annual fall conference.  This year’s theme challenges attendees to answer the question, “Turning the Tide: Strategically Navigating the Challenges of Serving Black and Brown Students, Faculty, and Staff in Community Colleges”. The conference will feature a number of stimulating presentations, plenary sessions, panels, and networking opportunities.  Our planning committee has been working diligently to ensure this year’s conference meets the diverse needs of our faculty, staff, administrative, and student participants.


Call for Proposals
The 2017 NCBAA Conference Committee is seeking engaging proposals that promote success and/or support for African American students, administrators, faculty and staff. This year’s conference will focus on the following topics:

Academic Retention, Success and Completion
Student Support Services
Community and Workforce Connections
Professional Growth & Career Advancement

Equity & Inclusion
Financial Literacy
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)

Non-NCBAA Members $170 (includes membership)
